What mandatory courses do I need to do?
Now look at your current qualifications. Are you suitable to be a travel nurse and in what specialty? What qualifications or extended practice do you need to complete to get into the area you want to be in? If not, how can you get there?
We strongly encourage you to get your mandatory courses completed at your current place of employment prior to starting travel nursing so that you can do them free of charge!

- NPS Medicine Wise Medication safety training
- NPS Medicine Wise National standard medication charts course (NIMC)
- Aseptic Technique
- Mask fit testing (within 2 years)
- MRSA Screening
Paediatric RN's only
- Introduction to Paediatric Escalation System & PARROT eLearning
Mental Health RN's only
- Government of Western Australia Mental Health Comission eLearning module on the Mental Health Act 2014
NICU RN's only
- Safe Sleeping eLearning (SSE)
WA also often requests you to have a recent swab for MRSA prior to commencing your contract.
